I just celebrated my bday and reflected on all the things I encountered in just 52 weeks!
There was some great highlights and some days full of tears…. happy vacation memories, along with hard goodbyes as new seasons of life arrived. I can look at those 365 days and see a lot of learning and living took place. I believe birthdays should always be celebrated because frankly, each year we should be getting wiser and more grateful as we go! We begin to see how life truly can change on a dime, and how many things happen without notice…
I have had setbacks with my health this year, and I’ve had stress like everyone else BUT I also have realized the incredible value of a normal day. As I see friends mourning parents or children who died too soon… I am more grateful for little things I took for granted for years... hearing my kids talk with excitement about their future, looking at the sky... spending time with good people, traveling, connecting with friends to just enjoy good coffee!
I see changes on the horizon and I’m working on LESS fear and MORE excitement. We can’t “plan” for everything that life throws our way. This past year, I had doors I thought I wanted open, that were SLAMMED shut ...😳!! (I’m becoming a pro at gut instinct and trusting “the plan“ )💯
This past year, I’ve had 3 friends diagnosed with cancer. 😖... No symptoms, no worry before, just a visit or test that ended much differently than they ever expected.
This past year my own health situation has had too many “not sure why” for answers! I’ve had to explain what is normal for me, and carry around medical files for CT scans bloodwork, and ultrasound hoping there would be a logical, consistent answer..
This past year I really learned the importance of being an “advocate” for ourselves, and not just settling for maybe and possibly! We create our lives by the choices we make and the things we settle for..:
This past year, I also learned plans are good, but life doesn’t always go according to “your plan” …
I didn’t plan on my birthday week including time in Minnesota 🥶… yet I’ll be heading to Mayo Clinic soon to get answers on what the heck is going on with my body…considering I try to do all the things - (workout, eat good food, drink loads of water…I’m really hoping for something minor and to get some answers! ••>#realitycheck
Taking care of ourselves doesn’t mean nothing but good things happen. Healthy living is important because it helps reassure you that YOU have taken power to do your best. One day at a time, with a workout, more water, or a new boundary in place.
〰️ •Chapter #48 taught me some hard stuff, BUT I can use that to evaluate more, teach differently, share with others and realize life is FULL of good, sad, scary and amazing days ... every single year. It’s our job to embrace them and learn.
We have no reason to shy away from “real life” or turning another year older. We should celebrate what we’ve learned and mistakes we learned from. We should set new goals and add to our bucket list, while we work to be more considerate, transparent and a little kinder each year. We should plan to embrace life more and keep striving to be more #centered each day for the new 365 days …
Life is a gift. . I plan to celebrate all month big and small moments! Thank you to those that follow. If you’re in my circle or work as a client, You know I’m humbly working on wellness with the rest of you! 🙌🏼 I love you, and appreciate the grace and support you continue to share.
I’m off to begin writing what I hope will be an extraordinary chapter #49!! #makingitcount
